Wanderers' new skipper Kevin Davies has revealed his pride in being given the captain's armband on a permanent basis.
The 31-year-old has been selected by Gary Megson to fill the void following Kevin Nolan's transfer to Newcastle United last week.
And Davies enjoyed the perfect start to his reign, helping his troops triumph over Spurs with a second half brace.
Davies enthused: "I've obviously filled in for Nobby (Nolan) in the past and it's a role that I have enjoyed. I think I'm the most senior outfield player and having been asked to do it, then I was very proud.
"I try and set an example out on the pitch, but we have some good leaders amongst us, so it's pretty easy on the vocal side.
"I kept everyone going, I kept everyone believing and the day went really well for me personally and as a team as well. I capped it off with a winning goal, so it was a great day for me and I'm really proud for myself and my family."
Davies' double against Tottenham were his eighth and ninth goals of the season respectively, should he be credited with getting the final touch on the opening goal at Middlesbrough back in November.
His current tally puts him in joint fifth position on the Barclays Premier League top goalscorers, but as pleasing as personal milestones are, the number 14's priority is helping Wanderers pick up three points on a regular basis.
Davies said: "I'm happy with the way things are going at the moment, especially the goal tally - it puts me on nine which is obviously a big improvement on last year when I only picked up three or four goals.
"I'm delighted with that, but scoring the winning goal is more important, so I'm happy that I helped to get the three points for the lads. It's given everyone a massive lift and it shows the belief that we can kick-on and get into the top ten."
Over the course of the last two games, a new goal celebration has been evident to Bolton supporters involving both Kevin Davies and Matt Taylor.
When asked about the mysterious 'jig', Davies refused to reveal the background behind the dance apart from saying that its conception came about on the recent mid-season training break.
"That will stay in camp," smiled Davies. "We had a little trip to Dubai and it's something from that which me and Matt (Taylor) said we would do if we scored. It's all fun and good banter."
